The Final Phase of the Comprehensive Planning Process
The draft recommendations for Collinsville’s Comprehensive Plan were presented to public for feedback during the third and final open house on January 20, 2026. From there, the final phase of the planning process will include fine-tuning the plan’s framework, developing the plan, and taking the plan through the adoption process. NEXT STEPS:
Final Future Land Use Plan and OKRs: The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and City Staff will work with the Consultant team to finalize the Future Land Use Plan and OKR Strategies.
Draft Plan: The Consultant Team will prepare the Draft Comprehensive Plan.
Draft Plan Review: The Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and City Staff will review the Draft Comprehensive Plan. The Draft Comprehensive Plan is also anticipated to be made available for public viewing on this website in March 2026.
Final Plan: The Consultant Team will review feedback and prepare the Final Comprehensive Plan. The Final will be published ahead of the adoption meetings.
Adoption Meetings: The Consultant Team will guide City Staff through the adoption process which includes a Public Hearing before the Planning Commission followed by a final approve meeting at City Council. These meeting dates will be published once they are confirmed.
Upcoming events.
Throughout the planning process, the City will be hosting a series of events from large Open Houses to pop-up events around the community. Representatives from the City and the consultant team will also be attending a variety of community events throughout the process. Join us at one of these public events to learn more about the Comprehensive Plan and share your feedback about the future of Collinsville!
